PADI RESCUE DIVER PROGRAM
The PADI Rescure diver program makes the serious subject of accident prevention and management enjoyable and rewarding. The skills you will learn in this PADI program will not only make you a more self-reliant diver, but one who can assist other divers in difficult circumstances. You will increase your diviing skills, making you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment.
PREREQUISITES:
- 12 years of age or older (teens under 15 can attain the rating of Jr. Rescue Diver)
- Certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
- PADI Medic first aid or proof of current first aid/CPR certification
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
The PADI Rescue Diver Porgram is structured to be fun and informative
Module #1 - Rescue Knowledge Development
This module is designed to incraese your assessment awareness knowledge of diiving related first aid equipment and problem prevention and management. Using the PADI Rescue Diver manual, video and other resources, you will home study the information and review with the instructor prior to a written final exam.
Module #2 - Rescue Skills Practice
This pool module provides training in dive rescue skills and scenarios and prepares the rescue student diver for open water training. Skills range from responding to a tired diver to response and egress of an unconcious non-breathing diver.
Module #3 - Open Water Rescue Training
This training is designed to increase your skills in dive rescue with a more practical, realistic approach. Scenario based training is completed either on a Steamboat Scuba and Water Sports tropical dive vacation or a weekend trip to Homestead Crater in Midway, Utah.
PROGRAM FEE: $345.00
INCLUDED:
- All instruction for classrooom knowledge development sessions, pool rescue skill sessions, and open water rescue practice sessions.
- All first aid and rescue equipment necessary.
- PADI Rescue Diver certification processing fee and certification card photo ($33.00).
- Tanks, weights, and belts.
- Discounts on all equipment and accessories purchased during the Rescue Diver program.
NOT INCLUDED:
- All scuba diving equipment not noted above
- PADI Resuce Diver crew pack including Rescue Diver Manual, Video (or DVD), and Accident Management slate ($64.95)
- Mask, fins, and snorkel (may be rented from Steamboat Scuba and Water Sports).
- Transportation.lodging, meals, personal expenses to/from and during the open water rescue training site.
- Admission fees to dive the Homestead Crater ($50.00 per diver for two days of diving).
